Ten. Nine. Eight. Seven. Six. Five. Four. Three. Two. One.

To You,

Congratulations. You did it. Whether you wanted to or not you survived another year. I know that 2015 may not have been everything you wanted it to be, but remember, it was everything it needed to be. You went through things that were needed to get you to the point that you find yourself where you are now. Things that made you stronger. Things that taught you something. You don’t always enjoy the ride, but at the end, when you get the chance to look back, you know that it made you better in some way shape or form.

Friend, I implore you to look back on the past 365 days. Look at all of the pain you’ve endured. Sort through everything you’ve lost. This may hurt, but take a second, take a breath, and feel that pride. That is pride that you deserve to feel, for you have endured. Don’t compare your hardships to those who stand to the left or right of you. Instead, bask in the glory of endurance alongside them. As the fireworks set your face aglow, know that we are there, that I am there, proud of what you have accomplished this year. No matter if your day count is 300, or 30, or even 3. Each of those days stands for something, and that is your strength. Don’t give up on yourself, for you are so worthy of the best. You earned it, just by being you.

Say goodbye to 2015. The good and the bad. And remember you did it. No one can take that from you. This survival is YOURS. Put the new calendar up tomorrow, and look back on the old one today. You did it, and I’m so proud of you. I love you. I can’t wait to see what the next 366 hold for you. But if that overwhelms you in anyway, just know that you’ve done it before, you can do it again. Just take it one year, one season, one month, one week, one day, one hour, one minute, or one second at a time. And believe.
